Photography which injects emotion or nostalgia, or creates an atmosphere in which you may place your own memories, and let them have a home, is often overlooked in the ever widening blur of post processing techniques. Even your family pictures are now HDR - so when this was suggested to me, I immediately felt drawn to the lines on the woman's face, to the respirator, to the woman in the background, and I thought, "This is real." I hope by sharing it with you, you will find in it a loved one, lost or living, and perhaps feel 'real' too.
The suggester says; "This is a photo of my grandmother. I guess it just so happened to be taken the day before she entered the hospital the first time. She's alright now, but that time was such a scare. My mother is in the background making Grandma's dinner, and I guess our grandmother didn't notice that my sister was taking her picture."
